Curriculum constitutes the scholarship or academic stream of Eduship. In South Africa, The National Curriculum Statement (NCS) Grades R-12 represents a policy statement for learning and teaching (as certified by Umalusi) and comprises the following:
Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) for each approved school subject
The number of subjects to be offered learners in each grade and the promotion requirements to be obtained; and
The recording and reporting processes for Grades R – 12
The NCS (above) is not to be confused with the National Senior Certificate (NSC), which is the school-leaving qualification which South African Matriculants receive upon successful completion of secondary school.
Definitions;
CIE - stands for the (University of) Cambridge International Examinations. This is a provider of international school-leaving qualifications.
IEB - stands for Independent Examinations Board. As its name suggests, it is an independent academic assessment body.

With the huge home-schooling community in the United States (approx 3 million students), an immense amount of excellent material has been developed over the years, and is now readily available globally. As many courses have been designed to fit home-schooling needs, philosophies and religious views, many South Africans already make extensive use of these resources during the primary school years. However, surprisingly, the majority then elect to complete their schooling journey using the traditional South African educational offerings (highlighted above)
The American High School Diploma (hereafter referred to as Diploma), is an official school leaving qualification which indicates that a student has completed the requirements for high school graduation. The Diploma includes a transcript of all subjects and grades obtained through the high school years. Requirements for earning the diploma vary by US jurisdiction (region/state/district), however in most cases, students complete a predetermined number of credit hours over four years (from Grade 9 to 12). In the US, Diplomas are necessary for college admission, military acceptance, and usually employment.
The ACT test is the leading U.S. university admissions test, measuring what students learn in high school to determine academic readiness for university. ACT Students and universities have relied on ACT scores for over 60 years. The ACT is accepted for admissions for Grade 11 & 12's by ALL four-year universities and colleges in the United States, and more than 225 universities around the world. In preparation from the ACT, the ACT Aspire programme is the first digital, longitudinal assessment system to fully connect student performance with readiness benchmarks from the elementary grades through early high school.
Obtain the Diploma through a USAf accredited institution, together with a letter certifying eligibility US university admission.
Eduship is in the process of applying for membership with one such organization being the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) (ACE Learning)
If unable to provide the eligibility letter (above), provision of the diploma together with SAT or ACT (Eduship recommended) results of 22, with a 22 sub-minimum in English and 21 in Mathematics.
All four-year universities in the US, and more than 200 universities outside of the US, accept and value the ACT.
Locally and internationally recognized / accredited (ACT) qualification
Excellent curriculum content (standards) and deployment (online) options
Flexibility in secondary subject choices, with credits counting toward university courses
Holistic development encouraged through extra-curricular credits / portfolio creation
Homeschool compatible / transferable where transcripts / portfolio's are up-to-date + qualifying ACT scores achieved
A Diploma is typically completed over a 3-5 year period, and by the age of 18.
The amount of credits required for graduation, is dependant on if the student is university-bound or not
A credit is defined as 120-180 hours (and 0.5 credits as 60-90 hours) of a high school-level subject.
The Diploma consists of core, secondary & elective subjects
The nature and content of the core subjects are fairly flexible, and is dependant on the student and institution. Eduship's core subjects include;
English (4 years)
Maths (3-4 years)
Science (3-4 years)
Social Science (2-4 years)
The Diploma requires further (secondary) subjects, including (but not specified);
Foreign language (including Afrikaans) / Physical Education / Health / Art / music / Computer and speech / Other electives
